This set was danced in most parts of Kildare from 1918-1920 onwards, This version was given to the Kilcullen Set Dancers by Ann Gill of Clane.

Slide in and lead around In waltz hold slide to the centre and back (4b), then each gent places his right arm over the lady’s shoulder and both couples lead around to opposite positions (4b).

2 Slide in and lead back Top couples slide to centre and back again, then with the gent’s arm over the lady’s shoulder, they lead across to their own positions. 8

Arches Each top gent takes his partner’s left hand in his right. Both top couples advance to the centre, first couple making an arch and second couple passing under it as they cross to opposite positions (4 bars). All face their partners, take the other hands and dance back to place, top couple making an arch again and opposite couple passing under it on the way back (4 bars).

Swing First top couple swing, moving into the centre as they do so and during the last two bars, opposite couples advance to join them in a circle of four.

Swing in Four Swing in four in the centre (6 bars) and reverse to place at the end of the swing (2 bars).
