Description:
This is a dance from Co. Armagh for eight dancers in set formation, which is danced to three different tunes. Haste to the Wedding, Leslie’s Hornpipe and The German Beau.
First top couple has their back to the band. First sides are to the left of first tops.

Haste to the Wedding (Jig)
32 Bars + 8 bar lead-in
1 | Everyone Sides Everyone takes hands and sidesteps to left, finishing with two short threes. Sidestep back to the right and finish with two short threes (8b). Repeat, moving first to the right and then back to the left. During the last two threes release hands and fall back into home position. |

2 | Rings The ladies advance to the center with promenade step, take hands in a circle (with hands held high) and dance round clockwise all the way back to place, release hands and fall back to home position. (4b) Everyone clap hands twice (1b) and sidestep to change places with their partner, gents passing behind (1b). Sidestep back to place, ladies passing behind (2b). Repeat the movement with the gents dancing in the center this time. |

Leslie's Hornpipe (Hornpipe)
32 Bars + 8 bar lead-in
1 | Everyone Lead Around Partners take inside hands, held high and lead around counter-clockwise (8b). Release hands and turn in place (turn toward your parner and continue to face clockwise) take inside hands and promenade back home. |

2 | Stamp and Clap Everyone stamp first on the right foot, the left and the right (1b). This is a very quick R L R and should be danced so the foot not stamping is brought up high behind. Clap three times (2b). Sidestep to change place with your partner (gent behind) and back to place (lady behind (4b) Bend slightly at the waist and slap (clap) your thighs five times quickly beginning with the right hand (1b) and clap your hands together three times (1b). Repeat the movement (8b) |

The German Beau (Reel)
40 Bars + 8 bar lead-in
1 | Everyone See Saw Take hands with your partner (uncrossed and held high and away from the body). Swing around the set counter-clockwise while turning clockwise with your partner (8b). Return clockwise while turning counter-clockwise (8b) Fall back into set formation. |

2 | Roly Poly With fists held in front at chest level, right over left, roll them around each other, moving the right away and left toward you at the beginning (1b), and then roll them in the opposite direction (1b). Pivot all the way around clockwise, with your weight on the right foot (1b). Clap hands together once (1b). Gents shake right fist in the air in front of them once with the hand at shoulder level and at the same time step forward slightly on the right foot moving the right hand to their side (1b) as they shake the left fist the same way while placing the left foot forward (1b). Gents now stamp their feet three times while moving back to place (1b). Gents clap hands three times while turned slightly toward their partner (1b). Partners sidestep to change places and reverse to return to place (4b). Repeat all. |

Haste to the Wedding (Jig)
32 Bars + 8 bar lead-in
1 | Everyone Hook and Chain The gents turn to the lady on their left, and hooks left arms, turning her once in place with promenade step and ends facing his partner. Taking right hands with partners all dancers chain all around the set, gents counter-clockwise and ladies clockwise, alternating right and left hands until they reach their partner, back home where they face back into the set. |

1 | Everyone Side under Arms Take inside hands with top couples making an arch and using promenade step tops and sides change places. First sides passing under the arch of first tops and second sides passing under the arch made by second tops. Release hands and turn to face the opposite direction (4b). Everyone takes inside hands again and dance back home, with sides making the arch and tops passing under (4b). Repeat while chaning direction so that second sides pass under the first top arch and first sides pass under the second top arch. (4b) Reverse as before to dance back home. (4b) |

1 | Everyone Thread the Needle Everyone takes hands in a ring except for gent of first tops and lady of first sides. First tops make an arch and first side lady dances under while pulling the rest of the line after her until she reaches home. The first top gent turns under his partners arm at the end. (8b) First sides now make the arch and the first top gent draws the line under the arch and back to place. (8b) |
